Terms of Service
Effective date: January 1, 2025 · Last updated: January 1, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Citera platform at citera.dev, a product of TS Technology. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. Description of Service
Citera is a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) platform that analyses web pages you submit, scores them for AI citation potential across multiple dimensions, and simulates how AI engines respond to related queries. To do this, Citera fetches the public pages you submit and sends their content to third-party AI model providers. We do not operate the underlying AI models.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Citera.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must promptly notify us at hello@citera.dev if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Credits and Billing
- Running analyses and AI simulations requires credits purchased through the platform.
- Credits are non-refundable once consumed by an analysis or simulation.
- Unused credits do not expire.
- Credit prices reflect the cost of crawling, AI processing and platform operation.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing with at least 14 days notice for existing users.
- Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. By purchasing credits you also agree to LemonSqueezy's terms.
4. Refund Policy
Credits that have not been consumed may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase. To request a refund, contact hello@citera.dev with your order details. Refunds are issued at our discretion and will not be granted for credits partially or fully consumed.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Citera to:
- Submit content or URLs that are illegal or that you do not have the right to analyse.
- Facilitate harassment, threats, or abuse of any person or group.
- Send unsolicited communications (spam) or conduct phishing attacks.
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, security controls or access restrictions.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.
- Resell or redistribute access to the platform without our prior written consent.
- Violate the acceptable use policies of the underlying model or crawling providers.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in violation of these policies without notice.
6. Fair Use
The platform is intended for legitimate analysis of web pages. We may apply reasonable limits to protect service stability and prevent abuse, and we may throttle or suspend usage that places an excessive load on our infrastructure or upstream providers.
7. Your Content
You are responsible for the URLs and content you submit for analysis, and you represent that you have the right to submit them. By submitting a URL, you authorise Citera to fetch the page and transmit its content to third-party AI providers for the purpose of generating your analysis.
8. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Downtime may occur due to maintenance, upstream provider outages or events beyond our control. We are not liable for losses resulting from service unavailability.
9. Intellectual Property
The Citera platform, its design, code and documentation are owned by Citera and protected by copyright. You may not copy, modify or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. AI model outputs may be inaccurate - you are responsible for validating outputs before acting on them.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Citera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard; unused credits are forfeited upon deletion.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Citera is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration before resorting to litigation.
