Credits & Plans
Citera runs on a monthly subscription. Each plan includes a pool of credits that you spend on analyses and simulations. Credits refresh every billing cycle.
How credits work
Credits are Citera's usage unit. When you sign up you get a one-time batch of free credits — no credit card required — enough to run a single GEO analysis so you can try the platform. To keep going, you subscribe to a monthly plan (Starter, Pro or Scale), and each plan tops your balance up to its monthly credit allowance.
Every action deducts credits from your balance. Your current balance, plan, renewal date and a full history of charges are always visible on the Billing page.
What uses credits
- GEO analysis — crawling, parsing and scoring a page across all 5 dimensions. Each re-score is a fresh run and costs the same.
- AI simulation — sending your queries to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek and Perplexity, then analysing mentions, citations and sentiment.
- Optimize Page — AI rewrite of your weakest dimensions into copy-paste title, meta, content and FAQ.
- Generate Schema — JSON-LD structured data (FAQ, Article, Organization, HowTo) for your page.
- Opportunity check — testing one untested query across all 5 engines.
The exact credit cost of each action is shown next to its button (in the tooltip) and on the Billing page, so there are never surprises.
Automated monitoring
You can enable auto-monitoring on a project to re-score it automatically (daily or weekly) and get alerted by email when your score drops, a competitor overtakes you, or sentiment turns negative. Scheduled runs deduct credits per run — just like manual analyses — so you stay in control of spend. If you run out of credits, monitoring pauses and we email you.
Plans & renewals
Pick a plan from the Billing page. On each monthly renewal your balance is reset to your plan's allowance — unused credits do not roll over, so choose the plan that matches your monthly usage. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel anytime from the Manage subscription link, which opens your secure customer portal. The Scale plan also unlocks white-label reports.
